What attracts and create talent? What and, maybe more important, who will shape the future? I just found out that my hometown Gothenburg, Sweden, is on top 5 of the Global Talent Competitiveness Index at World Economic Forum i Davos!  The report ranks 118 countries according to their ability to grow, attract and retain talent. Gothenburg - I'm proud of you! Of us! The citizens shapes the city, right?! It is is quite extraordinary for a small town up in the North with a population of only 600.000 people to score 5th place! In a global perspective - How many has even heard of Sweden's second largest city? Well we have Volvo, SKF and the famours ship The East Indiaman Götheborg of course. We love recycling, cleantech and the sharing economy. It's acctually a cosy little town that even has given name to it's own spirit - the Gothenburg Spirit - the spirit to put networks and contacts first in order to help each other. Truly helpful when you are an entrepreneur. Well, there is two sides of that coin too of course. Making it really hard to get into the system as a newbie in town. But I'm glad to see how the World Economic Forum emphasize the power of technology, innovations, entrepreneurship, eco-systems and co-creation. It makes me think about how we need to rethink the future.
And also, that everything is truly possible. Even if you are from a small town like Gothenburg.
